Collars for a Cause
On Saturday June 18th , Dave Kring Chevrolet-Cadillac hosted “Collars for Cause” Adopt-A-Thon.
During this four hour event fifteen dogs, three kittens and one cat were placed into nineteen loving homes, of which Dave Kring donated $50 toward the adoption fee. During this great family event the silent auction and the cook-out also earned the society over seven hundred dollars. A big Thank you goes out to Kilwin’s Chocolate and Ice Cream for dishing out their most popular flavors of ice cream for free.

Dave Kring Recognizes past 19 years of Athena Award Winners!

There was an impressive gathering of Petoskey leaders on Wednesday, June 22 when Dave Kring Chevrolet Cadillac hosted a luncheon of the past winners of the Athena Award. Seventeen of the 19 award recipients were on hand at Stafford’s Perry Hotel for the event which featured a keynote address by Dianne Dinkel, President and CEO of Athena International.
The Athena Award is presented each year at the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce Breakfast for Champions event to celebrate the potential of all women as valued members and leaders of the community and honors those who support them. 2011 will mark the 20th year that the award has been presented in Petoskey. It will be presented at Breakfast for Champions on Dec. 6.
Dinkel made the trip to Petoskey from Chicago where Athena International is headquartered. Her address focused on the qualities and virtues of female leaders and she connected the individuals in the room with those various qualities. She said the women attending the luncheon have been recognized for being authentic, for fostering relationships and collaborations, for being courageous, for continually learning, for being fierce advocates, and for giving back.
Dave Kring of Dave Kring Chevrolet Cadillac hosted the event and he thanked the women for all that they’ve done and for continuing to be exemplary community leaders. He presented each Athena Award winner with a rose and an engraved vase. A rose was placed at the podium in memory of Jane Bailey, a 2005 Athena Award recipient who passed away in 2009.
